Offices today are no longer the drabby, suffocating space we know of. It can be exciting and uplifting, so that co-workers and visiting clients can feel invigorated when working within. And that is exactly what Design Bureau was tasked to do, for 900 sq ft space in an industrial park, for JK Technology Pte Ltd, an IT solutions company.
The project, completed in mid-2022, mainly involved reinventing the old office workspace that’s set in a relatively dated industrial building, to give it new life. A full and complete office space renovation project, the client also hoped to employ environmentally sustainable features such as LED lights.

What we did?
Design Bureau was engaged to give the space a complete makeover, to make the industrial space young and lively, befitting of an edgy technological company. The clients also wanted to create a homely and comfortable work environment, with spaces where good, lively discussions and potentially effective and healthy collaborations can emerge from.
Environmental sustainability is a key concept that the company hopes to drive at the workplace, while not compromising on providing a good, bright working area for the staff.
An open concept is to be adopted overall, with little pockets of flexible spaces are required. Staff members can choose to move around to different areas within the office space to do their work or conduct meetings, as appropriate, with tables and seats of varying sizes and heights to suit different needs.
When there are clients and guests visiting, there are also different options of spaces to conduct discussions, workshops or consultations. These include open sofa areas, as well as private booths and pods.
All the fixtures, from tables with stowaway cupboards and standalone shelf fixings, are all created and installed to add functionality to the space, plus to add on to the overall aesthetics of the work area.
The overall space is creatively enabled by energy-saving LED lights, designed and installed in different configurations to light up the spaces, creating a bright and jovial working space overall.
Not to be missed is the feature wall with the business’s brand logo beautifully lit, a centrepiece of the workspace, and an invitation for all to nestle within.
